One year on PrEP

Today marks exactly a year since I started taking PrEP, and I just wanted to say that it’s given me so much peace of mind — so much more than I even imagined it would. There are many personal reasons one could have for deciding to start taking PrEP, but what’s most important is that it must be made accessible to all those who want/need it — not just here in Europe, but all over the world. It is one of the greatest tools we have to stop the spread of HIV. I hope from the bottom of my heart that it won’t be long before everyone who needs PrEP will be able to access it under regular healthcare.

I just want to give a shoutout to incredible organisations like Prepster and the Terrence Higgins Trust in the UK and PrEPnu in the Netherlands for their tireless work in increasing PrEP and HIV awareness, and fighting HIV stigma.

If you have any questions about PrEP, you’re welcome to message me and I can advise you or point you towards the right resources. For people in the UK: the website http://iwantprepnow.co.uk is an amazing place to start.
